A nine-chair atelier on Melrose Place where every appointment begins with a seated consultation — and nobody leaves with a colour they didn’t choose. By reservation, since 2012.
Great hair is not an event. It is a standing appointmentwith someone who remembers.
8722 Melrose Place, West Hollywood
Maison Coiffure keeps nine chairs on purpose. Fewer guests per day means your stylist has time to look, listen, and formulate — and a written record means your colour never depends on anyone’s memory, including ours.
Most houses sell transformations. We sell continuity: the same hands, the same standards, the eighth visit as considered as the first.
Complimentary and unhurried — Camille confirms your time within one business hour.

The servicesPage 04
6 disciplines, one standard.
Every service in the West Hollywood house begins seated and ends with a plan — cut maps and colour formulas recorded to your card so the result is repeatable, chair to chair.
Four master stylists and directors, one shared record of your hair. Tenure is the house’s favourite credential — the floor averages fifteen years behind the chair.
Meet the team
Laurent Mercier
Founder · Master Stylist
CA Lic. Cosmetologist · 22 yrs · Trained in Paris ateliers
Opened the house in 2012 after a decade assisting on European editorial sets. Cuts dry, speaks softly, and still takes the first consultation of every day.
Solène Adeyemi
Colour Director
CA Lic. Cosmetologist · Advanced Colour Chemistry, 16 yrs
Runs the private colour suites and the correction book. Guests fly in for her blondes; her formula cards are the house’s most guarded asset.
Camille Reyes
Guest Director
Hospitality lead · 11 yrs front-of-house
Keeps the book, the room, and the standing reservations. If your usual chair is out, Camille already has your formula card on the next one.
Théo Lindqvist
Senior Stylist · Men’s Atelier
CA Lic. Cosmetologist · Scissor-cutting specialist, 9 yrs
Leads the men’s side of the floor — scissor work, texture, and quiet appointments that start and end on time.
Reserved slot: 60-second stylist introduction film (see guide).
What to expectPage 06
The appointment, in order.
Four movements, none of them rushed. The numbers are the sequence — each step exists so the next one can be exact.
The process
01
Reserve
Request a time online or call the desk. The front desk confirms within the business hour and pairs you with the right chair for what you’re after.
02
Consult
Twenty seated minutes before anything touches your hair: history, photographs, strand test if colour is involved, and an exact quote in writing.
03
The work
Unhurried, sectioned, checked in daylight and mirror light. Colour formulas and cut maps go onto your card as they happen.
04
Continuity
You leave with a home routine, a growth plan, and your next reservation held — the appointment most guests never give up.
No ring lights, no filters — chairs, mirrors, and hair as it walked out the door. Captions note the brief, because the brief is the point.

Reviews

Solène spent twenty minutes with my colour history before she’d even quote me. Three visits later, strangers stop me about my blonde. Worth every cent and then some.

Théo is the first person to cut my hair with scissors start to finish. It grows out like it was planned — because it was. I book four appointments a year in advance now.

Came in for a correction after a box-dye disaster. They strand-tested, quoted in writing, and staged it over two visits instead of frying my hair in one. Honest people.

The consultation alone is better than most salons’ full appointments. Laurent showed me why my last three cuts collapsed and fixed the weight line in one sitting.

Impeccable work and a genuinely calm room — my standing blowout has survived two red-eyes and a monsoon. Four stars only because Melrose parking is its own adventure.

Six years, two stylists, zero disappointments. My formula card followed me when my colourist moved chairs and the result was identical. That system is the whole point.

Frequently asked questions
01Why is the consultation separate from the appointment?+
Because the consultation decides the appointment. Twenty seated minutes lets your stylist read your hair’s history, run a strand test if colour is involved, and quote the real cost and timeline in writing. You approve the plan before anything is booked — and the consultation itself is complimentary.
02How far in advance should I book?+
The floor books two to three weeks out; Saturday chairs and the private colour suites go first. Most guests hold a standing reservation so the question disappears. For a first visit, request a consultation online and the front desk will usually place you within the week.
03What does a colour service actually cost?+
Colour starts at $240, but the honest answer comes after a strand test — length, history, and how far you’re travelling from your current shade all change the formula and the hours. That’s why we quote in writing at consultation rather than publishing a menu that turns out to be fiction at the desk.
04Can you fix colour done somewhere else?+
Corrections are a house specialty, and the answer is almost always yes — staged. We won’t take your hair from black to platinum in one sitting, because keeping the hair on your head matters more than the before-and-after. Each stage is quoted and approved separately.
05What if I don’t know what I want?+
That’s the best possible starting point. Bring photographs of your hair at its happiest — not just references of other people — and your stylist will build the direction with you at consultation. The house rule: nobody leaves with a decision they were talked into.
06Do you take walk-ins?+
Rarely — nine chairs and a full book don’t leave much slack. If a cancellation opens same-day space, we offer it first to the waitlist, so call the desk and ask to be added. Blowouts are your best walk-in odds, mid-week before noon.
07What is your cancellation policy?+
Life happens: 48 hours’ notice moves any reservation without charge. Inside 48 hours we ask for half the quoted service, because your chair was held against other guests. A card secures the booking, but nothing is charged before your visit.
